Turbomolecular Pumps Mechanical

The kinetic vacuum pumps known as turbomolecular pumps (TMPs) run on a rotor that spins extremely quickly, often at 24,000 to 90,000 RPM. They typically use pumping speeds of between 10 and 4,000 l/s and operate at high to ultra-high pressures in the range of 10-3 to 10-11 mbar. They are extensively employed in industrial and scientific processes including vacuum deposition, mass spectrometry, and surface analysis that call for exact and hygienic vacuum conditions. They are perfect for many manufacturing and laboratory applications since they can run continuously for extended periods of time.

nEXT Pumps

Hybrid bearing pumps with integrated controls for pumping speeds ranging from 47 to 1250 ls-1 are known as nEXT turbomolecular pumps.

A hybrid bearing compound turbomolecular pump is called the nEXT. nEXT pumps combine an enhanced rotor design with a novel molecular drag stage, our well-proven bearing technology (oil lubricated ceramic lower bearing with dry permanent magnetic upper bearing), and user serviceability to give improved pumping speed and compression ratios. They have built-in drives for sensorless motors operating at 24 to 48 volts DC, which are fully compatible with our selection of TAG and TIC controllers.

nEXT55

Edwards provides a tiny and compact turbomolecular pump platform that is perfect for analytical instruments and the research and development industry with the nEXT85 and nEXT55 models.

Features and Benefits

minimal power, minimal vibration, and a clean vacuum are guaranteed by the upper magnetic bearing.
great speeds and great compression are delivered via optimized rotor designs.

A variety of variations are available that are appropriate for a wide range of applications: T is an extra regenerative stage that increases compression and boosts the backup pressure capability; H is an optimized rotor design for high light gas compression; and D is the regular nEXT pump form.

Integrated electronics/controller: provides serial or direct I/O control; for simpler systemization, it can be linked to one of our TAG or TIC controllers.

Completely user-serviceable: little tooling is needed to replace the oil cartridge and bearings in the field.
Inlet screen: normal supply
