Dry Scroll Pumps
Scrolling Towards Sustainability – Dry scroll vacuum pumps operate on the principle of positive displacement, employing two interlocking spiral scrolls – one stationary and the other orbiting – to capture and compress gas molecules. Renowned for their oil-free nature, these pumps require minimal maintenance, making them a popular choice for applications demanding a clean vacuum environment. Their independence from oil for sealing and lubrication mitigates the potential hazards of oil contamination and leakage, positioning them as an eco-conscious option.

Edwards is at the forefront of advancing scroll technologies, dedicating ourselves to providing the most sustainable solutions both presently and in the years to come. Our commitment to environmental responsibility drives our continuous efforts to enhance and innovate within the realm of scroll pump technology.

mXDS Scroll Pumps
Expanding Excellence in Dry Pumps – Edwards proudly announces the expansion of our small dry pump portfolio with the introduction of the mXDS3. This addition builds upon our rich history in scroll pump technology, bridging performance gaps and providing greater options for system builders and OEMs. The mXDS3 stands as a compact dry alternative to oil-sealed rotary vane pumps and diaphragm pumps with comparable capacities, offering enhanced versatility.

Versatility – Weighing a mere 7.8 kg, the mXDS3 is both compact and lightweight, featuring a purpose-built carry handle that enhances its portability. For those engaged in system assembly, this pump offers the flexibility of horizontal or vertical mounting. Additionally, users can choose to orientate the inlet either vertically or horizontally, with a convenient push-fit alternative available as an accessory.

Efficiency – The Edwards mXDS3 and mXDS3s dry scroll pumps boast a peak speed of 3 m3/h and an ultimate vacuum of 0.1 mbar. With such pumping speed and impressive vacuum capabilities, these pumps prove to be excellent companions for supporting turbomolecular pumps. The incorporation of a gas ballast facility, standard for water vapor handling, and an exhaust valve akin to their larger counterpart, the nXDS, further contribute to their high performance.

Sustainability – The mXDS3 and mXDS3s by Edwards stand out as clean, oil-free pumps, eliminating the need for oil top-ups, replacements, or disposal. Their lower power requirement, compared to pumps of similar capacity, aligns with energy-saving goals, presenting an eco-friendly option for reducing carbon footprints. The optimized fan cooling not only enhances efficiency but also contributes to a quieter operational environment, fostering a pleasant workspace.
