Multistage Roots Pumps

Two or more intermeshing rotors are used in multistage Roots vacuum pumps, a form of positive displacement pump, to compress gas. The low ultimate pressure, high pumping speed, and clean pumping environment of these devices make them popular choices for analytical instrument applications. Without the requirement for oil, they can produce high vacuum levels at the lowest noise levels, which results in inexpensive maintenance and great reliability.
